PLASMA ALBUMEN CONCENTRATION AND HYPERLIPIDEMEN IN NEPHROIC SYN-DROME

Abstract

Serum cholesterol abnormalities in patients with nephritic syndrome has long been recognized. However
mechanism of this change has been a cause of debate. OBJECTIVE: To find out co-relation of serum abnormal and serum cholesterol in nephritic syndrome. DESIGN: cause study. PERIOD: 1985 – 1995. MATERIAL AND METHODS: 32 Cause (male-23, female-9). SETTING: Serum cholesterol normal in five, increased in 27. Increased cholesterol with normal albumin in five (16%). Increased cholesterol with low albumin in 25 (78%). Normal cholesterol with low albumin 2 (6%). CONCLUSIONS: There is significant negative correlation between cerium cholesterol and serum albumin.
